Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Rebecca Long Observer The Disney+ Willow series was a breath of fresh air, harkening back to a bygone era of onscreen epic fantasy more focused on being delightful than profound. Rated: B May 17, 2023 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Nick Schager The Daily Beast Sustained interest, however, will be stymied by a cast of largely bland new characters and, more pressing still, a dearth of sweeping excitement. Jan 30, 2023 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Heather Hogan Autostraddle Willow gives us the lesbian Disney princess we've been waiting for, Jan 13, 2023 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Alex Valencia Q+ Magazine It’s a fantasy series full of action, love, friendship, and beautiful landscapes. Like its predecessor, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, which helps balance the humor with the seriousness of the story. Jul 15, 2024 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Joonatan Itkonen Toisto.net The series knows its capacity for greatness. It’s tapping into it that proves most difficult. In turn, its lessons, some carried over from the past, feel more timeless than ever. Rated: 4/5 Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Willow: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Pramit Chatterjee Digital Mafia Talkies There is a kind of simplicity, a sense of comfort, and an air of whimsy to the show that puts it right in the middle of the Shakespearean self-seriousness of The Rings of Power and the edgy self-seriousness of House of the Dragon. Hannah M I really enjoyed this show. I found the characters to be compelling and I was intrigued by the story. It's a shame that Diseny was to much of a cowered to continue it. Diseny has continued to disappoint me by by it's refusle to to stand with the LGBTQ2+ community. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/24 Full Review Niccolo L Disappointing that Val was not more involved. The show was watchable only because of nostalgia... Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/22/24 Full Review Sean H Peter piper pipped a peck of pickled peppers. Bet Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/18/24 Full Review Bruna G Amazing series, it surprised me. I highly recommend it !! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/15/24 Full Review SkyRo P After watching the film "Willow" for the first time, it was perceived as a corny yet lovable movie with entertaining moments, albeit with cheesy and lacking depth. While the film has its charm, it may not be one that warrants repeat viewings, as it falls short in terms of overall enjoyment. The storytelling and character development were deemed subpar, failing to create an enchanting or immersive experience as initially anticipated.Despite "Willow" becoming a cult classic, it ultimately fell into the category of films that are predominantly corny and cheesy. The television series that attempted to capitalize on the movie's cult status failed to live up to expectations, leading to its cancellation after one season. The series struggled to capture the essence of the original film, resulting in a lackluster and unengaging viewing experience. In conclusion, both the movie and the television series based on "Willow" failed to leave a lasting impact and were ultimately deemed uninspiring and difficult to follow. While the film may have its moments, it may not be enough to warrant a recommendation for viewers looking for a captivating and enjoyable cinematic or television experience.
